Nurse Practitioner

We are looking for an experienced nurse practitioner to join our team! Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and treating patients of all ages. Nurse practitioners will be responsible for independently evaluating, diagnosing and treating common urgent care illnesses and injuries.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a Nurse Practitioner program
• Certification by either the ANCC or the AANP
• DEA license or ability to obtain a DEA license
• CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification
• DOT certification or ability to obtain CPR certification
• Must work well independently and without supervision
• Must have a positive attitude and a patient-first approach to medicine

Physician Assistant

AFC Urgent Care Suffolk is seeking a physician assistant to join our team! Ideal candidates are comfortable evaluating, diagnosing and treating a variety of urgent care illnesses and injuries for patients young and old without supervision.

Qualifications:

• Master of Physician Studies (PA) degree
• Certification by the NCCPA
• DEA license or ability to obtain a DEA license
• CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification
• DOT certification or ability to obtain CPR certification
• Must work well independently and without supervision
• Must have a positive attitude and a patient-first approach to medicine
• Must be able to perform minor procedures

Medical Assistant

AFC Urgent Care Suffolk is looking for a medical (clinical) assistant to join our team! Medical assistants will support our team of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in providing excellent and compassionate medical care to our patients. Medical assistants will collect patient medical history, prepare patients for evaluations, complete lab tests, communicate treatment directions and more.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a medical or clinical assistant program
• Certification from the AAMA is preferred, but not required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Experience in an urgent care setting preferred
• Must have excellent communication skills and good bedside manner
• Must be able to work well with a team

X-Ray Technician

Are you a certified X-Ray technician looking to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment? Look no further! AFC Urgent Care Suffolk is seeking an X-ray technician to join our team. Technicians will be responsible for safely and efficiently completing X-ray examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and other ailments. This role is also required to perform quality control checks of X-ray equipment, maintain records of the work performed and complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or 1 year of related experience and/or training
• Virginia state radiology certification
• CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification
• Prior experience in an urgent care setting preferred
• Excellent communication skills and good bedside manner
• Ability to work independently and with a team
