Medical preparation for travel is increasingly important. Not only are there more serious health risks present around the world, but there is more available for prevention and treatment. Opportunities for prevention should not be overlooked by any traveler, regardless of destination.
AFC Urgent Care offers immunizations for many types of diseases. To expedite your care, AFC Urgent Care has set up a print out questionnaire for you to complete prior to your visit. Your AFC Urgent Care physician will then customize an immunization program for you based on the information you provide and can help you assemble the medications necessary that will help protect you against malaria, food and water borne diarrhea illness, and motion sickness.

Once the form is completed, bring it in with you when you show up for your visit and the provider will review the information and come up with a customized program for your travels. There is a travel consultation fee that will be charged at the time of our visit which will include any required prescriptions plus the price of any vaccinations or immunizations. Some vaccines are covered by certain insurance plans, please contact your insurance provider before your visit to see if this applies to you and we will be happy to bill them.

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
