Livingston COVID-19 Rapid Testing at AFC Urgent Care

AFC Urgent Care Livingston offers the Abbott BINAXNOW COVID-19 rapid antigen test to detect cases of the COVID-19 virus. This rapid test provides results in under 15 minutes. The Abbott BINAXNOW test is available under an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA. The Abbott BINAXNOW’s COVID-19 test features performance of 85% sensitivity and 99% specificity. We test symptomatic patients pursuant to an encounter with one of our medical providers.

What Should I Do To Prepare For My Rapid Test?

When you arrive at AFC Urgent Care Livingston for a rapid test, please wear a mask covering your nose and mouth. This should only be lowered when asked by our clinical staff in order to collect the testing sample. The sample will be collected by taking a gentle swab of your upper nasal cavity, which is processed on-site. The swab, which only takes a brief moment, is mildly uncomfortable and should not cause any pain. A member of our clinical staff will provide you with a printout of your result prior to your departure.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
