Tick Bite Treatment

At AFC Urgent Care Fairfield, our physicians see cases of tick removal and tick bite treatment during the months between April and September, which are the most active months for ticks. Our urgent care center removes ticks from the skin as well as evaluate any suspicion of a tick-borne illnesses.

Between 3-30 days following the tick bite, some individuals experience symptoms of tick-borne illnesses such as:

  • Bull’s Eye Pattern Rash
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness

If you have been suffering from any of these symptoms, be sure to visit our urgent care center and our physicians will provide you with the care you need. Our urgent care center can evaluate and treat your symptoms on a walk-in basis – no appointment necessary.

Open seven days a week, we offer convenient night and weekend hours to provide you with the care you need when it’s convenient for you! We also accept most major health insurances as well as provide low-cost care for those without.

Some ways you can reduce your risks for tick bites or tick-borne illnesses include:

  • Avoid wooded and bushy areas with high-grass
  • Walk in the center of trails
  • Wear protective clothing such as pants and long sleeves
  • Conduct a full-body tick check, and shower after outdoor activities
