Sports & Camp Physicals
Many schools require student athletes to be examined by a physician prior to their sports season. The exams are required to make sure the child is healthy and not pre-disposed to future injury or illness. These exams are Routine and include an evaluation of the child’s medical history, make sure all vaccines are up to date, and a complete physical examination.
If your child’s primary care physician is overbooked and your child’s sports season is right around the corner, be sure to visit AFC Urgent Care Fairfield. Not only do we conduct comprehensive physical exams, but we can also update or administer any vaccination on the spot.
Our physical exam includes:
- Medical history review
- Height and weight measurement
- Blood pressure and pulse test
- Examination of health, lungs, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth
- Evaluation of posture, joints, flexibility, and strength
We can conduct entire sport, camp or school physical on site by our board certified physicians. If needed, we will even fill out any required forms you provide, and write a referral to a specialist. We offer convenient night and weekend hours to fit into any parent’s busy schedule and accept all walk-ins, so anappointment is never necessary.

*Please note sport/school physicalswill have to be seen no later than 2 hours prior to closing: Cut off time for physicals will be 6:00 PM every day.

How long will the exam take?
AFC offers some of the lowest wait times around, with many patients getting in to see a provider in less than 15 minutes. Your exam will probably take around a half hour.

What happens if my physical reveals I have a medical problem?
We’ll complete your paperwork as required, but if it’s something we can help with we might be able to provide you with treatment on the spot. With in-house labs at many locations, you could be on your way without the need for a second visit.

What if I’m on my route and can’t visit my local AFC?
