What do I do if I test positive for COVID-19?
If you are COVID-positive and satisfy the medical requirements, we offer the possibility of a Paxlovid prescription (Nirmatrelvir tablets; Ritonavir tablets). According to research, Paxlovid lowers COVID-19 infection-related hospitalizations and fatalities. Patients who are more likely to experience disease progression are given it. Paxlovid is not available to everyone, and your eligibility is determined by the doctor you consult. In general, those who are older, unvaccinated, or who have other higher-risk medical conditions are more likely to experience COVID hospitalizations and/or death. Visit the CDC website for more details. Please see the CDC website for more information.
Paxlovid prescription consists of taking 2 pink tablets or 150 mg of Nirmatrelvir and one white-ish tablet of 100mg ritonavir in the morning and again in the evening by mouth with water and/or food for five days.
Side effects of Paxlovid include Allergic reactions, Liver disease, and others. Conflicts with other medications exist, and it is important to tell your medical provider all the medicines you are currently taking.
When Should You Be Tested?
- If you are experiencing any symptoms (cough, fever, body aches, shortness of breath, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of smell, headache)
- Potential exposure to an ill individual.
Will My Insurance Cover My Covid-19 Visit?
Please be advised that medical insurance requires a medical issue or symptom. If using medical insurance, the rates for your office visit are determined by your copay/insurance, not our facility. Please call your insurance directly if you have questions about your coverage and financial responsibility.
