What services do we provide?
An immigration physical is a required step if you are applying for a green card or citizenship. Unlike other physicals, this one must be administered by a USCIS Designated Civil Surgeon. Our board-certified providers at AFC Haledon are available to give you this physical. They have years of experience in administering this specialized physical, and our facility is equipped to manage all of the testing requirements needed. We also keep most of the required vaccines on site to get your immunizations up to date.
What happens during an immigration physical? What is included?
All Exams Include:
- Physical Examination by Civil Surgeon
- Gonorrhea Test (18 to 24 years old)
- RPR (Syphilis) Test
- TB Test (via QuantiFERON Gold)
Additional Labs, Vaccines, or Services as needed
- Chest X-Ray
- TDAP
- MMR
- HEP A
- HEP B
- Varicella
- Flu
- Titers for Hep B, MMR, Varicella.
If a physical needs to be repeated because it was not submitted to USCIS within 60 days of the date it was completed and signed by the civil surgeon, the pricing is:
Physical examination with paperwork- $160
Labs, Vaccines & Services- if any of these have expired will be an additional fee.
Most patients will need additional vaccinations, TB blood testing, other blood tests, and usually a chest x-ray before the physical is complete. These services are all available at our urgent care center at affordable rates.
What should I bring with me to my immigration physical at AFC Urgent Care in Haledon?
When visiting our urgent care center for this physical, please bring with you:
- Government-issued photo ID (Valid Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport)
- Previous vaccine and immunization records
- Hospital records indicating prior treatment for infectious diseases
- Previous Chest X-rays and other diagnostic tests
- Any available mental health records
- Payment (Cash, Credit, or Debit Card)
Will health insurance cover my immigration physical?
Most health insurances do not cover this service. You may pay for the physical out of pocket, we accept cash or credit/debt (no checks).
