How Long Will I Have to Wait?
Wait times at AFC Urgent Care are typically short; most visits take less than an hour from check-in to checkout. Of course, this can vary slightly depending on the day and time, but we do our best to keep things moving efficiently. AFC clinics are designed as walk-in clinics, so while the wait time changes, it is exponentially faster than the waiting room of the ER. Want to save time? We have an online reservation tool, so you can save your spot ahead of your visit.
Can I Bring My Child to AFC?
Absolutely! Our providers see patients of all ages, including infants (6 months or older), children, and teens. Whether your child caught pink eye at school, has a sore throat, or a sprain from the playground, we’re equipped to provide quick, compassionate care. We’re a great resource when your pediatrician’s office is closed or fully booked.
Do You Treat Work-Related Injuries?
We do! AFC works with many local businesses and employers to treat non-emergency work injuries and perform required tests or screenings. We’ll also provide the necessary paperwork and communicate with your employer as needed. If your injury is job-related, such as minor cuts, lacerations, fractures, or burns, swing by an AFC East Tennessee clinic. Be sure to let a staff member know you need our occupational health services.

Do I Need an Appointment?
No appointment is needed at AFC. We’re built around the convenience of walk-in care, so when something unexpected comes up, we’re here. Still, if you want to plan ahead or minimize your wait, you can register online before you arrive. This helps streamline your visit by completing any necessary paperwork in advance.
Can You Provide a Prescription if I Need One?
Yes. If our provider determines that medication is appropriate, we’ll write a prescription and send it to the pharmacy of your choice. Our East Tennessee clinics do not have pharmacies on site, so patients cannot receive medication only prescriptions from our clinics. Whether it’s antibiotics for an infection or medication to manage symptoms, we’ll make sure an AFC team member meets with you, so you can leave with proper medication instructions.
Will You Accept My Insurance?
Most likely, yes! AFC Urgent Care accepts many major insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurers. Not sure if yours is on the list? Give us a call and we’ll confirm for you, or click on the link below. We also have self-pay options available for those without coverage. AFC strives to make medical care convenient for you, so we’ve also made an online web portal where you can pay your bill.
