Clark COVID-19 Rapid Testing at AFC Urgent Care

AFC Urgent Care Clark offers the Abbott BINAXNOW COVID-19 rapid antigen test to detect cases of the COVID-19 virus. This rapid test provides results in under 15 minutes. The Abbott BINAXNOW test is available under an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA. The Abbott BINAXNOW’s COVID-19 test features performance of 85% sensitivity and 99% specificity. We test symptomatic patients pursuant to an encounter with one of our medical providers.

What Should I Do To Prepare For My Rapid Test?

When you arrive at AFC Urgent Care Clark for a rapid test, please wear a mask covering your nose and mouth. This should only be lowered when asked by our clinical staff in order to collect the testing sample. The sample will be collected by taking a gentle swab of your upper nasal cavity, which is processed on-site. The swab, which only takes a brief moment, is mildly uncomfortable and should not cause any pain. A member of our clinical staff will provide you with a printout of your result prior to your departure.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why does AFC provide two different COVID tests?

We offer a rapid test because they provide highly reliable results on the spot; however, they do produce more false negatives than the RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. Doing both tests is our way of ensuring that you get the most accurate results possible without having to put your life on hold.

  • How long does it take to get a COVID test?

We're able to get many patients in and out in a matter of minutes, but the length of time you'll spend in our clinic will depend on wait times that day.

  • How much does it cost to get a COVID test?

That will ultimately depend on your insurance coverage. Presently, many people with insurance are able to get tested at no charge. If you’re uninsured, AFC’s cash pay prices are highly competitive – contact us for the details.
