AFC Urgent Care Willow Grove is happy to announce that we now offer telemedicine. From the comfort of your own home, you can receive high-quality care from our Willow Grove area, board-certified doctors. If you are concerned about the current COVID-19 outbreak or are unable to travel to our clinic for your medical ailment, this is a perfect solution for you. AFC Urgent Care Willow Grove, as an essential business, remains open seven days a week for walk-in patients for the services we offer. We hope this new service will make it easier for you to get the care you need in the Willow Grove area.
Telemedicine became available at AFC Urgent Care Willow Grove in April of 2020.
A telemedicine appointment is very easy to make, and the process is fairly straightforward. There is no need for any special hardware or software installation to connect with a provider. All you need is a computer, smartphone, or tablet with audio and video capabilities.
Just follow these steps:
Yes, we can screen you for COVID-19 using our telemedicine system, and it is the preferred way to screen for this virus. We prefer the telemedicine system to screen for COVID-19 out of an abundance of concern for the safety of our staff and patients. Again, if you feel you might be showing signs of COVID-19, please connect with us via telemedicine so we can evaluate your conditions.
Many common illnesses and injuries can be treated with a video visit with one of our providers. These include:
As much as we would like to treat everything over telemedicine, some things do require a face to face appointment with one of our doctors.
Some of these services, injuries, and illnesses include:
Yes, you can get a prescription medication refill with a video visit, although there are some restrictions on this. We will not prescribe any addictive substances, controlled substances, ADD, ADHD, or any medications related to mental health. Any medications related to treating a chronic illness will be limited to a one-month supply.
During the current public health emergency, many telemedicine appointments are being covered by insurance with little or no copayments from a patient. Even some high deductible plans are being covered 100% during this time. When stay-at-home orders are lifted, and the COVID-19 crisis wanes, this may change. Insurance companies are currently waiving this fee so everyone can stay healthy, but again this may change. Please call our office if you have questions about what fees are required for telemedicine visits.
We are excited to offer this new way to connect with our patients to provide them the healthcare services they need. We look forward to treating you from the comfort of your home and helping keep you safe. Take advantage of our new telemedicine platform today and book an appointment. Questions? Please call, and we’ll be happy to help you and walk you through the process.

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
