Primary Care & Urgent Care - Dr. Christopher Kim is a primary care physician that is a board certified Family Medicine physician. He completed his residency with the Virginia Tech Carilion Family Medicine program before moving to Portland, Oregon to work with AFC. Dr. Kim's medical philosophies entail practicing compassionate care with a focus on preventative medicine.
"I wanted to join AFC to be a part of a practice with both an interest in primary care and urgent care services. I want to do my best in keeping up-to-date with contemporary, evidence based medicine so that the best possible care is provided while leaving patients satisfied with their experience." - Dr. Kim
He decided to move to the Portland area so he could experience a new part of the country with a dynamic culture and great emphasis on the outdoors and healthy living. When he's not working at AFC, Dr. Kim enjoys hiking, visiting Oregon's lakes, camping, beer tasting, reading, and sight seeing. In the future, Dr. Kim would like to try sky diving.
Dr. Kenneth Melvin Doctor, MDDr. Kenneth Melvin Doctor, MD
Internal Medicine, Urgent Care & Primary Care - Dr. Ken Melvin's interests are in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. Dr. Melvin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and his medical (and surgery) degree from Otago University Medical School in New Zealand.
He further received specialty training in pulmonology at England's St Thomas Hospital and in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland. He then returned to complete residency training and Board Certification in internal medicine in 2003 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Portland and had been in private practice until August of 2012, when he decided to join the AFC Urgent Care of Portland team.
Dr. Murtaza Batla Doctor, MDDr. Murtaza Batla Doctor, MD
Urgent Care - Dr. Murtaza Batla is from Karachi, Pakistan where he went to medical school. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan, and then went on to do his fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at UMKC in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to joining AFC Urgent Care, he had been working for the past few years in Clarksdale, Mississippi as a Sports Medicine specialist, and volunteered as the team physician for local athletic teams. He now brings his love for providing patients with the best possible care in a comfortable environment.
When he is not in the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and traveling, especially to sample new and different cuisines.
Dr. Pat Spensley Doctor, MDDr. Pat Spensley Doctor, MD
Primary Care & Urgent Care - Dr. Spensley enjoys working cooperatively with every patient he sees and providing the medical information that will allow them to make the best decisions in the management of their own health. His focus is to help people prevent disease and promote health through lifestyle choices as much as possible, and to be their trusted professional ally when the treatment of illness and disease is necessary.
Dr. Spensley has over 20 years of experience in family medicine and has been the owner and supervising physician at Villa Medical Clinic in Newberg since 2006. A few of his hobbies include hiking, swimming, yoga and reading. He lives in Newberg with his wife Brenda, and their two children.

Dr. Sue Lewis Doctor, MDDr. Sue Lewis Doctor, MD
Primary Care & Urgent Care - Dr. Sue Lewis has been a primary physician since 1997. She is a graduate of OHSU and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She enjoys providing the full scope of primary care services with a particular interest in women’s health care. Dr. Lewis believes in a holistic approach to medicine and feels that a patient’s emotional well-being is closely tied to their physical well-being. She is also a believer in using preventative medical care to maximize her patient’s health and well-being. Dr. Lewis especially loves caring for families. Her hobbies include traveling, music, reading and quilting.
Dr. Vandana Rana Doctor, MDDr. Vandana Rana Doctor, MD
Urgent Care, Primary Care & Public Health - Dr. Rana has been practicing medicine since 1987. Her clinical interests span urgent care, primary care and public health. Dr. Rana received her medical degree from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India. She did her post graduate work and residency at OHSU in public health and Preventive Medicine.
Her philosophy of practice is to treat each patient as you would treat your own family. Dr. Rana loves the friendly environment, teamwork and compassionate care patients receive at AFC Urgent Care of Portland.
Dr. William R. Princen Doctor, MDDr. William R. Princen Doctor, MD
Urgent Care Physician - Dr. Bill Princen has been an Emergency Medicine physician for the past 35 years, practicing mainly in rural hospitals on the Oregon Coast.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. He did his Internship in San Francisco. He was Board certified in Emergency Medicine in 1984.
He has taught college EMT and Nurse training programs and ran a county-wide Emergency Medical Service. He has traveled worldwide as a cruise ship physician.
He is the father of four, and his youngest are twins.
His interests, when he is not seeing patients at AFC Urgent Care of Portland, are writing, photography, woodworking, nature and travel.

CMA, Lead Medical Assistant - Shortly after graduating from high school, Antwanic knew that she had a passion to help others and wanted to work in the medical field. Antwanic attended Heald College but eventually transferred to Concorde Career College to enroll in their Medical Assistant (MA) program. After completing her externship with AFC Urgent Care, she was hired full time.
According to Antwanic, “the most rewarding part of working at AFC Urgent Care is seeing patients feel cared for and leaving happy.” In 2016, Antwanic was awarded AFC Employee of the Quarter for the outstanding level of care she provided patients.
Dr. Dori Macdonald Medical AssistantDr. Dori Macdonald Medical Assistant
PA-C, Urgent Care - Dori's interest in medicine started with a volunteering position she had at a women's health center. Post this experience she enrolled and graduated from the PA program at Duke University. In addition, she has a Women’s Health Certificate from UCLA.
Dori Macdonald is Board certified by the NCCPA and comes to us with 30+ years of experience as a medical provider, with about 20 of those years at Kaiser, in primary care and urgent care. Prior to Kaiser she worked in various other practices providing women’s health services including Ob/gyn.
Dori and her husband have two dogs and they enjoy the outdoors when has free time.

CMA, Lead Medical Assistant - In 2013, Hailee graduated from a small private school and went straight into the medical assistant program at Pioneer Pacific College. She initially only planned to complete the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) training program, but eventually decided to advance her new skills by adding Limited X-ray training. She is so glad she did, as x-ray has now become one of her passions.
Following her studies, Hailee began at AFC as an extern and was eventually offered a full-time position - which she gladly accepted. Now years later, she loves where she works and has grown immensely as a person and in in her skill set. Hailee says “People used to tell me, ‘find a job that you love and enjoy, and you will never work a day in your life.’ And that's exactly what I have found here at AFC.”

CMA, Lead Medical Assistant & Lab Coordinator - NJ came on board AFC Urgent Care of Portland in 2013 after completing her externship with AFC Urgent Care of Portland. She loves working with patients in an urgent care setting. She is also the Lab Coordinator for all 3 AFC Urgent Care of Portland clinics.

Director of Marketing and Sales - Dan comes to AFC Urgent Care of Portland after a long career in marketing and retail advertising. He has done work for some of the Northwest's most well known brands like Standard TV and Appliance and Shari's Restaurants. He is passionate about building brands and cultures that support the goal of being an industry leader.
Dan received his BS from Long Beach State University and MBA from Concordia University, Portland. When he is not engaged in promoting our Urgent Care, Primary Care and Occupational Health segments, Dan enjoys time with his wife Angie and their four children.
John Doumitt Clinic ManagerJohn Doumitt Clinic Manager
Director of Operations - John Doumitt is an operations and finance executive with expertise in corporate management, planning, and strategy. He joined AFC Urgent Care Portland as Operations Director in 2017. Since 1990, John has held leadership positions with medical services and healthcare companies including Cardinal Health Nuclear Pharmacy Services, Activus Healthcare Solutions, HemaCare Corporation, and ZOOM+Care. At ZOOM+Care, John was General Manager of Urgent Care. He is a Professional Industrial Engineer and obtained a Masters in Management from Purdue University and a BS in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.
