COVID-19 & ANTIBODY TESTING
How COVID-19 Testing is Conducted
AFC Urgent Care is proud to offer our patients Baseline COVID-19 Testing. Baseline Testing rules out previous COVID-19 infection, through a simple blood draw, and swabs to detect any current infection. During your visit, you will be tested for Flu A/B and Strep, due to the similarity of symptom onset. You will recieve a Rapid COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT), and RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. We also offer SARS-COV-2 Antibody Testing. Antibody testing is conducted through a blood draw. You will receive Rapid COVID-19 Test results during your visit! The RT-PCR COVID-19 Test results will be available through your Patient Portal within 3 Days. Antibody Test results will be available in 2-3 Days, and will also be posted to your Patient Portal. *INSURANCE COVERAGE: Based on the CARES ACT, most major insurances have agreed to waive the cost sharing requirement for COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment for all patients. How long this will be in effect varies for COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment for all patients. How long this will be in effect varies by insurance. If you have a “SELF FUNDED PLAN” or "HEALTH SAVINGS PLAN" (usually listed on the card), your insurance carrier does not have to comply with this, you may be responsible for an urgent care visit fee. We are currently not collecting copays FOR COVID-19 VISITS. If they are not covered, please note you will be responsible for your typical Urgent Care Copay and/or Deductible for this visit. If you do get a bill that you believe should have been covered, please reach out to your insurance company directly to have them reprocess it. This is a COVID related visit, however, we have no control over how the insurance company ultimately processes the claim.
How Antibody Testing for COVID-19 is Conducted
Sample will be collected through a blood draw. Antibody tests check your blood by looking for antibodies, which can show if you had a past infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. Antibodies are proteins that help fight off infections and usually provide protection against getting that disease again (immunity). Antibodies are disease specific. Once blood sample is collected, our team will send sample to the lab. Results will be available in 2-3 Days.
What to bring with you to your COVID-19 testing:

Why is COVID-19 Testing Important?
Testing plays a key role in our country's efforts to tract and contain this highly contagious virus in an unprecedented time. By testing as much of the population as possible we can contact trace, provide data to healthcare officials, isolate infected persons to help slow the spread of the virus.
