AFC and Baptist Health Expand Partnership with New Clinic
Health Care Leaders Join Forces to Provide Quality Medical Care
to Underserved River Region
January 14 2016 – Birmingham, AL – American Family Care (AFC) and Baptist Health continue the expansion of their partnership with the grand opening of a new AFC PriMed clinic in Alabama’s underserved River Region. The primary and urgent care clinic, the 9th to open under the partnership, is located at 101 Paul Stabler Drive in Greenville, Alabama. Doctors and the medical staff will start treating patients at the new facility on January 18th.
“We’re excited to combine our medical experience and commitment to excellence with Baptist Health’s talented health care professionals as we work together to create a new benchmark for top quality medical care for the people of Greenville,” says Randy Johansen, President of American Family Care. “AFC was founded in Alabama and we are thrilled we can combine forces with another health care leader to serve area residents, saving them time and money.”
American Family Care and Baptist Health joined forces in 2014 to create AFC PriMed, a community focused partnership offering urgent and primary care in the River Region. Together the two leading health care organizations are providing enhanced health care in 7 Alabama counties that are underserved by primary care and urgent care providers. Nearly a half million people living in the surrounding communities can now access the AFC PriMed clinics.
All 9 AFC PriMed clinics are designed, equipped and staffed to provide accessible primary care, urgent care, minor emergency treatment and occupational medicine. They use a high-tech approach, including digital X-rays, on site lab testing, state of the art diagnostics and electronic medical records. The clinics are staffed by kind, caring and compassionate health care professionals. Almost all of the clinics, including the Greenville location, serve patients daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and no appointments are necessary.
